The partita has been moved down from the original A minor to G minor, two octaves lower than the original pitch, and this edition preserves all the original markings from the manuscript held in the Staatsbibliotehk zu Berlin (Mus. Ms. Bach P 968). This partita has been previously recorded by Anner Bylsma on piccolo cello, also in G minor, and compliments performing the cello suites on double bass.
